Delete your Serica account
Serica is developed by Halil Öncen. You can delete your Serica account and the data linked to it at any time, in the app or by email.
Delete your account in the app
- Open Serica on your phone or at getserica.com and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Can't sign in?
Email us from the address registered to your Serica account with the subject "Delete my account". We'll confirm the request comes from the account owner and delete the account within 30 days. Send your request to [email protected]
What gets deleted
- Your profile: name, email address, password and profile photo.
- Your journeys, entries, photos, videos, audio recordings and the locations attached to them.
- Guides you created, time capsule messages left for you and your activity history.
- Collaborative journals you own, for every member and including their entries, and your entries and memberships in other people's collaborative journals.
What is kept and for how long
- Your account and its records are deleted right away. Uploaded photos, videos and audio recordings are moved to a deleted files area and permanently erased within 30 days.
- Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and they keep their purchase records under their own policies.
- If your subscription is still active, later notices about it from our payment service provider, such as its renewal or expiry, are kept without your name, email address or account identifier.
- Information that the third-party services and service providers described in our Privacy Policy have already received is not removed by deleting your account. It is kept according to their own retention practices.
Before you delete
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account so you are not charged again.
If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account in the app also removes Serica from your Apple Account where possible. You can always remove it yourself: Sign in with Apple settings
